Raj Gupta is a passionate social entrepreneur dedicated to driving meaningful social change. With a Master’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship from NMIMS, he brings over seven years of experience in the social sector.
Raj’s journey in social impact began in 2014 when he participated in SAHER’s transformative Sports for Peace initiative, which uses football to promote gender awareness, unity, and decision-making among adolescents and youth. This experience ignited his commitment to social change and continues to shape his professional path. Today, Raj serves on the SAHER Board of Trustees, providing strategic insights to advance the organization’s mission.
Currently, he leads the Mission Rabies project as the Surveillance and Rabies Response Team Manager for World Veterinary Services (WVS) in Mumbai. In this role, Raj implements a comprehensive One Health approach to rabies management, reflecting his dedication to innovative and holistic public health solutions.
Mehboob Khawaja Husain Qureshi was born and raised in Jogeshwari and has been a part of SAHER since its inception. Over the years, he has remained deeply committed to the cause of social justice and fostering a community where equality and harmony thrive.
What inspires Mehboob most is witnessing young people develop critical thinking skills and a strong sense of purpose through SAHER’s interventions. Seeing them grow into thoughtful, empowered individuals motivates him to continue contributing to this transformative mission.
Rama Shyam, co-founder of SAHER, is an ethnographer by training with over 22 years of experience in grassroots and international organizations. Her work focuses on peacebuilding and community-based leadership, emphasizing evidence-based learning to strengthen adolescent and youth programs. As Director with SNEHA's Adolescent and Youth Programme and the Collaborations and Partnership Domain, Rama advocates for integrated adolescent programming using a gender-transformative approach across national and global platforms.
She currently leads three large interventions with young people and communities in Mumbai's urban informal settlements, focusing on scaling school and public system-based models, addressing adolescent mental health through stepped care approaches, and improving access to social protection schemes. Rama is also deeply invested in building the capacities of community volunteers to foster citizenship, democracy, and governance.
Anjum Aara Nakhwa is a dedicated professional with 9 years of experience in the social sector, focusing on Livelihood and Childhood Programs. Her expertise lies in training and development aimed at driving meaningful and lasting societal change.
She holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Social Responsibility from IGNOU and a Bachelor of Commerce from Mumbai University. Deeply inspired by the mission of SAHER (Society for Awareness, Harmony, and Equal Rights), Anjum resonates with its values of inclusivity, empathy, and social justice.
Passionate about ensuring dignity and respect for every individual, regardless of their background or identity, Anjum joined SAHER to be part of an organization that breaks barriers and promotes equal rights. She is committed to leveraging her skills and experience to contribute toward building a more just and equitable society.
Shahnaz Asif Bagwan serves as a dedicated board member of SAHER. Hailing from a humble background, she exemplifies resilience and hard work. A proud mother of two daughters, Shahnaz works in the accounts department at SNEHA organization. She is passionately committed to women empowerment and enabling harmonious coexistence, striving to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
Shaikh Parvez Abdul Rauf, an AC technician by profession, is a lifelong resident of Jogeshwari and has been deeply connected with SAHER for over 15 years. His journey with the organization reflects his dedication to creating meaningful change in his community.
Through grassroots initiatives and youth empowerment programs, Parvez has passionately contributed to SAHER’s mission of fostering awareness, harmony, and equal rights. His commitment to the collective vision of a better Jogeshwari is evident in his active involvement in various initiatives.
Born and raised in Jogeshwari, Yusuf Abdul Latif Ansari has been closely associated with SAHER for several years. His journey with the organization stems from a profound commitment to social change and community development.
A passionate advocate for sports as a tool for unity, Yusuf joined SAHER through its cricket initiative, "Sports for All," which enable critical thinking and inclusivity among youth. Witnessing the transformative impact of these programs on young minds and the broader community continues to fuel his dedication.
Yusuf believes in the power of collective action to build a society grounded in equality, awareness, and harmony.
